Copenhagen Hotel Guide

The pleasant 100- year old Grand, conveniently situated just north of Central Station, has 151 renovated rooms, including some set aside for nonsmokers.

Hotel Imperial, The Imperial, opposite Vesterport S-train station, has a stellar reputation for service among the cites, top-end hotels. All of the 163 rooms have modern decor with all the usual amenities plus few special touches including a deep Japanese-style bathtub.

Scandic Hotel Copenhagen The 465-room Scandic, close to the Tycho Brahe Planetarium, is a well-regarded chain hotel with all the expected facilities, including a health club, secretarial services and a concierge.

Radisson SAS Royal Hotel This central 265-room multistory hotel has modern rooms with full amenities and attracts the well heeled. There’s also a centre for business travelers, a nightclub and fitness centre.

Radhuspladsen & around the Ascot, the Ascot occupies a former bathhouse erected 100 years ago by the same architect who designed Copenhagen’s radhus.
The lobby boats some interesting bas-reliefs depicting scenes from the bath-house days.
Most rooms are large and some have a kitchen.
 
Hotel King Frederik This classic hotel has an historic character with dark woods, antique furnishings and paintings and paintings of Danish royalty. The 110 rooms are poshly comfortable.

Palace Hotel In an interesting period building, the Palace has 162 spacious rooms; the decor is old-fashioned, with upholstered chairs, heavy curtains and brass lamps.

Nyhavn & Around Copenhagen Admiral Hotel. For nautical atmosphere it’s hard to beat this waterfront hotel, in a renovated 18th-century granary replete with brick archways and sturdy beams of Pom-eranian pine. Each of the 366 rooms has a nice blend of period charm and modern conveniences.

71. Nyhavn Hotel Another hotel in a renovated 200-year –old harbourside warehouse, it too has incorporated the building’s period features, such as exposed wooden beams.

Hotel Opera   Opera just south of Det Kongelige Teater, has an old-world character befitting its theatre-district location. Although it’s not as fancy as some other top-end period hotels, the rates are a bit lower and the rooms comfortable.

Neptun Hotel This respected first class hotel, a block north of Nyhavn, is affiliated with the choice Hotels chain.

Phoenix   Just a block north of Nyhavn, the Phoenix is one of the city’s more popular deluxe hotels. It has 212 plush rooms with heavy carpets, chandeliers, upholstered chairs and the like.

Hotel d’ Angleterre Visiting Celebrities generally opt for this exclusive hotel, which has chandeliers, marble floors and a history dating back to the 17th century.
It also has Copenhagen’s highest rates but, despite its lengthy history, it no longer enjoys the solidly pre-eminent reputation it once had among Copenhagen’s top hotels.
